At La Plonplonière, French cultural heritage is as important as golf!
And for obvious reasons since the area abounds with architectural treasures and little-known places where History has left its mark. The Chartreuse de Neuville is one of the prime examples, which is the reason why we always recommend its visit to our hosts.
2023 was the year of great news for this 700-year old stone Lady. Indeed, it was identified as a French site at risk by the Mission Patrimoine and selected to participate in a fundraising event. The money thus collected will contribute to the ongoing restoration works taking place on its grounds.
The Chartreuse restoration project is one of the major restoration projects involving historical monuments of France. It started at the end of 2016 and involves the main body of the building but as there is yet a lot to achieve, the donation will come in handy.
Mission Patrimoine is led by Stephane Bern, carried out by the Fondation du Patrimoine and supported by the Ministry of Culture. Its role revolves around the preservation of cultural heritage in all its aspects.
